“Screw It”, Tom Brady Reveals His Thanksgiving Schedule In Interview With Oprah Winfrey
Being an athlete isn’t easy and when you are an athlete at the ripe age of 44 years, believe me, nothing can be more tormenting. The reason is simple and that is an inhuman diet that you will have to follow which can otherwise be retired along with your playing career. Tom Brady is 44 years old and guess what for one day in his entire career, he chooses to say goodbye to his stringent diet.
Tom Brady interviewed Oprah Winfrey on his Sirius XM show, “Let’s go” this week. However, Oprah Winfrey as awesome as ever managed to turn the tide around him and started flinging a volley of questions at the 44-year-old signal-caller. Raving about his Thanksgiving meal, he quoted, “Just like everyone else. That’s the one meal where I’m just like ‘Screw it, let’s go for it.’ We all get to enjoy it.”
This is what Tom Brady had to say about his Thanksgiving schedule
Brady is known for keeping at the top of his health and he maintains a stringent diet. However, for these four hours, he forgets everything. He very remarkably quoted about averting caffeine, white flour, white sugar, dairy products, gluten, and vegetables such as tomatoes, eggplants, peppers and mushrooms that can lead to inflammation.
According to him about 80 percent of his protein comes from plants instead of animals and he also is a big fan of avocado ice cream. The interview with Oprah dropped a cue that Brady may have started thinking about his retirement plans. Even though he made it clear that he won’t be retiring before 45, he is already 44 and it won’t be shocking if he chooses to hang his boots once and for all.
With all said and done about his stringent routine, he was asked about his family time and like the famous Marlon Brando quoted in Godfather, ‘a man who doesn’t spend time with his family can never be a real man’, Brady was all praise about his family time in the holidays.
He said, “Thanksgiving, there’s a lot to be thankful for, but you only get four hours to enjoy it. Practice usually ends at about 1 or 2. You eat about 3:30, then you’re getting ready for the next day of practice. Same with Christmas. I’m looking forward to the time when I’m done playing football, so I can have those more normal holidays that I had growing up that were important where the family’s all together.”
