“I can’t trust him”: Shannon Sharpe on whether Dak Prescott will lead the Dallas Cowboys to the Super Bowl
Shannon Sharpe and Dak Prescott
The Dallas Cowboys had their best game of the entire season so far on Monday. They absolutely thrashed the Washington Football Team by a huge deficit of 56-14. Right from the word go, the Cowboys were relentless in every department of the game.
Cowboys Quarterback Dak Prescott played like his superstar self after quite some time. He has been under the scanner for not stepping up when needed. However, against Washington, he was spitting fire. Prescott threw four touchdowns in the first half of the game itself giving the cowboys a giant lead over WFT.
“He’s a 4 out of 10”: Shannon Sharpe rates Dak Prescott
Cowboys’ star QB Prescott was 28/39 for 330 yards and four touchdowns against WFT. Undisputed co-host Shannon Sharpe was asked to rate Prescott’s tremendous performance against Washington. “I’ll give him his jersey number, a 4”, said Shannon.
Shannon said, “So now he plays 1 good game in the last 2 months and he’s back?”. Shannon feels that Prescott has done what any quarterback with his experience can do. He said that Dak should not be given any extra attention or appreciation for playing good football only once every few months.
Dak Prescott was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Prescott has been in the league for six years now and his career has been a rollercoaster with plenty of up and down. “A guy in year six shouldn’t have a two months low”, said Shannon. “People fail to acknowledge it (Prescott’s ups and downs)”
Shannon said, “He plays 3 or 4 great games, then 3 or 4 not so good.” Dak Prescott played exceptionally against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 11. Cowboys won 43-3 with Prescott throwing for 296 yards and 2 TDs. But the very next week, Prescott couldn’t manage to put double digits on the score board against the Kansas City Chiefs. Cowboys lost 19-9 to the Chiefs.
Shannon said he can’t trust a quarterback who isn’t consistently good. He added that he can’t trust Dak Prescott enough to lead the Cowboys to the Super Bowl. The Cowboys are the NFC East Champions but everybody is going to set their eyes on Dak Prescott to see if he can create magic in the playoffs and lead the Cowboys to the SoFi Stadium next year.
