“$75 million price tag, $7.5 worth of performance”: Skip Bayless rips Dak Prescott to shreds after morale-shattering loss to 49ers

A lot was expected from the Dallas Cowboys this season. They had the stars in the side who were more than capable of guiding the side to innumerable wins. Although they did well at several stages in the tournament, they failed to perform in crunch games.

In the wild card round game, the Cowboys were defeated by a determined 49ers unit and Prescott and Co have only have themselves to blame. Right from the opening quarter to the third one, the 49ers were well and truly on top of their game.

Prescott’s mistake in the final moments sealed the deal for 49ers

Despite a good last quarter, the Cowboys couldn’t prevent the 49ers from scripting a magnificent win by 23-17. As soon as the Cowboys failed to get past the 49ers, it was evident that Dak Prescott will face a lot of flak. Although it won’t be right to blame just one player for the team’s loss, when someone has a price tag as high as $75 million, a herculean effort is expected from him.

Alas! Prescott couldn’t deliver what was expected from him. He slipped into a slump midway in the season and although he performed well in a few games after that, it wasn’t enough. Skip Bayless, who is a staunch supporter of the Cowboys, took to Twitter to reprimand Prescott after the 49ers game.

He wrote, “Dak Prescott, making $75 million this year, has mostly played like he’s worth $7.50 an hour today. He has been far more off than on. That interception just sealed it. Ballgame. Congrats, 49ers.” With just 13 seconds left on the clock and the Cowboys trailing by 6 points, Prescott had a chance to redeem himself. However, he panicked and gave the ball to his center and not the referee and the 49ers eventually emerged victoriously.
