“Don’t trust him,” Skip Bayless rips into Patrick Mahomes after Chiefs fail to protect 21-3 lead against the Bengals

The Kansas City Chiefs failed to achieve their quest of a third consecutive Super Bowl appearance this season. The favourites stunningly fell to a defeat against the Cincinnati Bengals in the divisional playoff encounter despite a great start to the game.

Their inability to score a touchdown in the final stages cost them the match, and their premier quarterback Patrick Mahomes has found himself under the scanner for his performance on the night.

Despite leading 21-3 at the end of the second half, the Cincinnati Bengals made a dramatic comeback to force OT and won the encounter even after losing the coin toss.

Mahomes did not have the best of days on the field and earned the wrath of leading NFL analyst and Undisputed show host, Skip Bayless. Bayless gave his co-host Shannon Sharpe some incriminating facts on Mahomes to claim why he does not trust the Chiefs QB despite his big reputation.

Bayless said, “I’ve been trying to tell you all year that Patrick Mahomes has been in a slump or he’s declined some, or how do you want to describe what happened to him. All I know for sure, is Pro Football focus, graded Patrick Mahomes for the regular season, the 13th best quarterback in pro football. That’s not next level, off the charts, that’s not on another universe to the rest of these quarterbacks.”

“So I’m thinking it should be over at 21-3, but because is Patrick Mahomes and because it’s now 2021 going into 2022, I still have this voice in my head- Don’t trust him. He is like a father like a son, he is a chip of Andy Reid’s block,” Bayless finished off on his assessment on Mahomes.
