‘Owing Saints as usual’ Twitter explodes after Stefon Diggs did ‘this’ during Saints vs Bills Thanksgiving game

Stefon Diggs during Saints vs Bills Thanksgiving game

Buffalo Bills got things flowing early during their 31-6 win against the Saints in New Orleans on Thanksgiving. This marked the first instance this season that Bills won despite losing the turnover war. New Orleans only had one turnover when Jordan Poyer intercepted Trevor Siemian with 7:07 remaining.

And, while most of the time, the team that wins the turnover war also wins the game, this demonstrates the Bills’ ability to respond and bounce back after a poor first half. But that’s not the only reason why the Bills’ fans are excited. It was Stefon Diggs and his route that stole the show.

With his exquisite touchdown route, Diggs once again shows why he is not just the Bills’ top wide receiver but also one of the finest playmakers in the entire NFL.

In a nutshell, Diggs opened up the field by tricking Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore. He deceptively made Lattimore run the false direction and created enough room to take control of the ball. Marshon was completely bamboozled and Twitter exploded. Fans are delighted with their favorite wide receiver’s astounding route clearing abilities.

Not only fans, but Diggs’ teammate Josh Allen was cheerful too. “Diggs get open, basically,” the Bills quarterback laughed. “He’s a route technician, I think everybody knows that. I don’t know what you’re supposed to do when you’re out there with him because one he’s very smart with the way he sets you up, the quickness and the speed out of his cuts it’s pretty unbelievable so I saw him open and I just tried to get it to him as quickly as possible before he got out too wide,” Allen continued.

Diggs ended with seven catches for 74 yards. He also proved that when Diggs is involved early and has a chance to make a play with the ball, good things generally happen.

On Thursday night, Diggs led the Bills in catches, receiving yards, and targets, scoring his seventh touchdown of the season on a five-yard reception early in the third quarter. With at least five catches in five of the past six games and four touchdowns in the last three, the star wideout enters a Week 13 matchup with the Patriots on Monday night, December 6 with plenty of momentum.
