“There are people who are justifiably absolutely disgusted,” Stephen A. Smith sceptical of Deshaun Watson’s controversial trade to the Cleveland Browns
Deshaun Watson has hogged most of the limelight after the free agency window was opened in the NFL a few days back. The Cleveland Browns decided to rope in the quarterback from the Houston Texans despite the multiple sexual harassment allegations against him.
The 26-year old quarterback was alleged to have sexually harassed his massage therapists but was cleared of all criminal charges by a Texan judge, which prompted the Cleveland Browns to make the trade final. However, even after getting a clean chit from the judge, many have argued against his move to the NFL.

ESPN’s popular talk show host, Stephen A. Smith was one of them who did not appreciate the Deshaun Watson returning to the NFL, and spoke at length on the issue, during his latest edition of First Take.
Stephen A. Smith pointed out the two sides of the coin while speaking on Deshaun Watson and said it is not a good thing to have as many as 22 civil cases.
“With a lot of the bs angles that a lot of people take when it comes to something like this. Let’s get 1 thing straight the man has 22 civil cases against him. That’s not a good thing. You have people out there that are justifiably absolutely disgusted at the fact that this man will be in a position to get this money, that’s one angle.”
“Here’s the other angle there are people who want to come to his defense reminding us that, there are no criminal charges against him, those charges were dropped. And b, he claims he was innocent.”
“You got people in his camp, who claim that well he’s innocent now. When you say one or 2, yeah that’s bad enough when you for 22 cases against you damn it where there’s smoke there is fire.”
It now remains to be seen, whether Deshaun Watson is able to shut down his criticisms, for whatever he has done in the past, with his performances on the pitch for the Cleveland Browns, when the 2022 NFL season starts this year.
