“You’re going to jail” – Stephen A. Smith thrashes Matt Araiza, says he doesn’t deserve sympathy if allegations are true

Stephen A. Smith and Matt Araiza
The NFL world came to a standstill ever since allegations were made against Buffalo Bills punter Matt Araiza for gang rape. This dates back to his college days as the up-and-coming placekicker of San Diego State.
The victim whose name has been kept under lock and key for obvious reasons alleged that Araiza and two other athletes of San Diego State raped her during a party in October. After these allegations were made public, the Bills immediately severed all ties with Araiza and cut him from the organization.
Stephen A. Smith feels there should be no lesser punishment than imprisonment if gang rape allegations are in fact true against Matt Araiza

Everything was going great for Matt Araiza as the season was about to start. He quickly became the rising star in Buffalo due to his insane punting skills and was named “Punt God”. However, it all turned to dust without a second notice after an 18-year-old girl went public and alleged that Arariza and his two friends gang raped her when she was 17 years old.
While talking with CBS News, the victim revealed the horrific nature of the crime committed against her. She said that the trio snatched her phone away, ripped apart all her peicering, and left her in a bloody mess. “I was crying, and my friend asked me what happened and I confessed to her that I had just been raped,“ the victim said.
The entire NFL world rained down hell on Matt Araiza and among them is Stephen A. Smith. The First Take host is known for his anger and he doesn’t hold back and speaks his mind. When Araiza’s topic came up for discussion, Smith said that serious actions should be taken against the 22-year-old.
“He’s in trouble. Listen, what the district attorney is saying, we’re looking into this because we did not know. And now that now that we know this, we’re looking into this. He’s in a world of trouble because obviously that didn’t happen by accident. Didn’t happen by accident,” Smith said. “Something happened to that young lady. And it’s clear. And the fact that it was a gang rape. Yeah. Now, I mean, we talk. We’re talking imprisonment.”
“We’re not talking settlement. We’re not talking a civil case. A civil case may come with it, but we’re talking potential imprisonment. And Matt Araiza, if you’re innocent, you’re innocent. I don’t know. None of us know. We weren’t there. But you and whoever you were with and that young lady, we don’t know. But if there’s truth to this, you’re going to jail. Going to jail.”
Smith is 100 percent right in his stance. The NFL has been riddled with various such allegations against athletes. Everyone hoped that after the Deshaun Watson saga ended, there won’t be such allegations made against any more players of the league. The NFL needs to make its stance clear on such situations. Matt Araiza should be given the maximum sentence for such a heinous crime if there is any truth to the victim’s story.
