Prior to Lock, Teddy Bridgwater was the starting quarterback for Denver. However, he suffered an eventual season-ending concussion in Week 15. This gave Drew Lock an opportunity to start. Unfortunately, he could not capitalize on these opportunities and ended up losing both encounters.

“I know it’s not a narrative in our locker room; it might be out there in the cyberworld, but this win would mean no more than another win,” Lock said, via the Associated Press. “I mean, every single Sunday you go out there and everything you do, how you eat, how you sleep, when you come in, how much film you watch, all is pushed toward a win. And a win in this league, it’s not easy to do, obviously. You know, I think I’d be just as excited about a win this week as I’d have been last week.”

Drew Lock was drafted by the Broncos in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Lock seemed to show progress during the end of his rookie season. However, he has struggled since. In the 2020 season, Lock lost 9 of his 13 starts and he was tied for the NFL lead with 15 INTs.

In his two starts this season, Lock has been handling the ball better comparatively. But ahead of Saturday’s affair with Kansas City, Lock isn’t worried about what the future could bring.

“As long as you’re in the NFL and you’re playing and you get to be on a team as special as this one I don’t know why you wouldn’t want to be,” Lock said. “So, as far as my future goes, that’s not up to me at this point. But I do know my future is playing a game this week and that’s my No. 1 priority right now.”

The third-year quarterback has not been turning the ball quite as often as he used to. However, there are still questions about his future at Denver Broncos. Rumors have been floating around that Drew Lock is not a franchise QB and that the Broncos might drop him off the squad. The Broncos are set to face the Chiefs at Empower Field Stadium on Saturday.
