“There is no way Tom Brady’s going to stop now,” Skip Bayless unsurprised on QB’s comeback from retirement
Tom Brady has made a huge announcement this morning, where he stated his return from retirement back into the NFL. He will continue with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after he announced his retirement from the game at the end of last season in February.
There had been widespread speculation regarding his return to the pitch, almost immediately after he had announced his departure. A number of franchises were interested in acquiring his services if he decided to return. There were theories made that he wanted to get out of his contract with the Buccaneers and the retirement was one way to do so, after their failure to reach the Super Bowl last season.
Tom Brady must have had contact with the San Francisco 49ers believes Skip Bayless
However, while many ruled this out, NFL analyst Skip Bayless never ruled out the possibility of him returning to the pitch. The veteran TV presenter said that he was surprised a bit with him returning to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and not going to some other franchise.
“A big, fat ZERO! I have been telling you from the start there is NO way he is going to stop now. My only mild surprise is that he’s running it back with the Buccaneers. Because I thought there was a chance, a really good chance that he would finish back out in the bay area. He was born and raised as a Joe Montana 49.”
Skip Bayless also said that he believes Tom Brady must have had some contact with the San Francisco 49ers, and he wanted to go there after failing to change his franchise earlier this season. Brady wanted to check out whether the 49ers were interested in him, but it eventually did not materialise and hence he had to stay put at his former club, Buccaneers for the 2022 season.
“Trust me on this, that at least got checked into, there are backchannels going on. he at least tested the water with your Shanaghans, the coach of the 49ers. You cannot tell me there was not some communication back and forth just to test the water and see if this time they’d be interested because they were not interested the last time.”
