Now it is well known that Tom Brady doesn’t consider himself to be the greatest footballer of all time. However NBA legend LeBron James has bestowed that title upon him. We take a look at the time when James praised Tom Brady amidst his recent U-turn from retirement.

LeBron James believed that Tom Brady isn’t the greatest athlete of all time

However while LeBron James thinks that Tom Brady is unarguably the greatest footballer of all time, he isn’t convinced when the debate comes to the greatest athlete. To justify his answer he gives some interesting points. He says Brady is a terrific quarterback but manages to affect the game only one way.

According to LeBron James, football is a sport wherein one department isn’t associated with the other. However, on the other hand, basketball players need to be involved in both attacks as well as in defence. He even goes on to say that the defensive players in football don’t even talk with the ones involved in offense.

My only argument with a football player being the greatest athlete of all time is that they only gotta play one side of the floor, man,” James said of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback way back in an interview which was conducted in 2017.

Yes, Brady is unbelievable. Brady is the greatest quarterback I’ve ever seen but he affects the game one way. ..,” said LeBron James.

Just as a basketball player, and the pounding that you take and running both sides — ‘OK, I gotta do offence. Oh s—t, I gotta get back on defense. Oh, s–t, I gotta get back on offense. Oh s—t, I gotta get back on defence.’ As physical as football is — and to the body, I know it’s crazy to the body — but for a quarterback, [Patriots coach Bill] Belichick has done a great job of implementing those five guys in front to protect that asset. “

For us [as basketball players], every single night, you gotta know both sides. We both played football … the offense never even talked to the defense — all week! We don’t even speak to y’all! When I played football, offensively, I never even talked to the defensive side. I never even talked to y’all! Ain’t nothing to talk about! I’m sitting down like this on the bench — ‘Oh, turnover? Oh, where’s my helmet?’ … You remember that!”I’m not saying he’s not great. He’s the greatest football player of all time.”
