“Tom Brady and the Bucs in trouble?” Skip Bayless expresses massive concern over Tampa’s divisional-round matchup

This week’s NFC divisional-round matchup sees Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers take on the LA Rams. The teams have already met earlier this season with the Rams taking that game 34-24 in SoFi stadium.

This week however they’ll be playing in Tampa against a Buccaneers defense that has been rejuvenated as of late and is looking much more formidable. The Rams themselves have had their defense find some solid form in the final few weeks of the season as well as their wild-card matchup against the Cardinals.

The Rams defense playing well could pose a major threat to Brady’s attempt to repeat as his offense is not at full strength right now with Ronald Jones confirmed to be out and Leonard Fournette seemingly unlikely to play as well among many other notable injuries. Skip Bayless who absolutely loves praising Brady and always backs him recently had a segment on Fox Sports’ ‘Undisputed’ where he discussed why this matchup is a serious problem for Tampa Bay.

A segment of Fox Sports’ ‘Undisputed’ had Skip Bayless say this about Tampa Bay’s current offensive situation “You know what happens to that 44-year-old quarterback when he’s under duress from all sides. He’s never been the most mobile quarterback. I’m afraid he’s going to have nowhere to run and nowhere to hide. I do not love this matchup for Brady.”

Bayless went in-depth in terms of the offensive line injuries saying “It starts with his right tackle. NFL Network is reporting that Tristan Wirfs is a longshot for Sunday. His backup Josh Wells has a pulled quad that should have kept him out of the game against Philadelphia.”

“He marginally played against Philadelphia because he got walked over. It was a disaster for Tom Brady. Ryan Jensen the pro bowl center is also not right. He practiced limited, I think he will try to play, I don’t think he will be great in this game. I don’t think he will be himself.”

Having addressed the offensive line issues, Bayless then went on to describe the skill position problems saying “I thought he discovered Cyril Grayson as the new AB. Obviously AB melted down and peaced out. Chris Godwin was lost in that nightmare of a game against New Orleans. Done for the season.”

” I don’t think Cyril Grayson is gonna be able to play because he pulled his hamstring. I thought Breshad Perriman who they discovered in overtime against Buffalo, I thought ok maybe something. He’s been limited in practice and I think he’ll be at best limited in this game. Leonard Fournette, didn’t practice this week. Ronald Jones, can’t go.”

In what seems to be a very odd situation, Brady has all the odds against him with how beat up his offense is. While he does still have Mike Evans and Rob Gronkowski, the offensive line issues means he’s going to be under pressure all day long, and not having their starting running backs means they won’t be able to take the sting out of LA’s pass rush by running at them either.

Regardless of what kind of scheme Tampa pulls out, it’s going to be a very difficult game for Brady. It doesn’t mean it’s a right off because after all, this is the GOAT, but it certainly will take an all-time performance to overcome the odds.
