At the beginning of the offseason, legendary QB Tom Brady decided to end his one-of-a-kind career of 22 years. Brady justified his decision to leave the NFL by saying he wanted to spend more time with his family. But just within 40 days of his retirement, Brady announced he would be coming back to play for the Buccaneers.

After a few days of Brady’s retirement, Tampa Bay head coach Bruce Arians also decided to step down from his position. This started numerous rumors wherein Brady was blamed for forcing Arians out.

NFL critics and fans alike were confident that Tom Brady strong-armed the Bucs’ front office and forced them to choose between him and Bruce Arians. There were rumors of the 7x Super Bowl not being comfortable with Arians’ management style. The same fiasco occurred back in New England where Brady was QB for 19 seasons. There was an apparent power struggle between Brady and head coach Bill Belichick which the QB ultimately lost. He wanted Bill O’Brien to replace Belichick.

However, at Bruce Arians’ retirement press conference, the former coach squashed all the rumors that his relationship with Brady had gone sour. “All the players — there are a few in here — everyone of them has gotten cussed out. Including him,” Arians said, pointing to Brady“That’s just part of me. That’s nothing new. We have a great relationship. … People got to write s—. It couldn’t be further from the truth.”

On Thursday at a press conference, Tom Brady was asked point-blank about his rumored rift with Bruce Arians. “Zero whatsoever,” Brady said of Arians. “He and I have a great relationship. Part of the reason I chose here was because of Bruce. I mean, he and I have been — incredible communication — I have great respect for him. He knows how I feel about him — that’s the most important thing. And I know how he feels about me.”

After putting the rumors to rest, Brady said “We’ve still got a lot to accomplish.” The 3x Super Bowl MVP said he’s pumped up about going out there on the field and competing and winning another championship. During his short retirement, Brady confirmed his future path after he finally retires from Football. He signed a massive $375 million television deal with Fox Sports to become an analyst.
