“He Needs Help, But Unfortunately…”: Tom Brady reacts to Antonio Brown’s dramatic meltdown and exit
Tom Brady and Antonio Brown
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were the favorites when they stepped into the MetLife Stadium to take on the New York Jets. However, in no time, things started to go awry for Brady and Co. At one stage, the Jets were leading by 24-10 and it appeared that the Bucs might suffer a crushing defeat.
However, three touchdowns from the ever so reliable Tom Brady dragged the Bucs out of misery, and in no time, the scoreline tilted in favor of them. The game ended 28-24 in Bucs favor and they somehow managed to win, however, what happened with Antonio Brown actually ended up getting more attention than the game itself.
“Everyone should be very compassionate and empathetic with some difficult things that are happening”: Tom Brady on Antonio Brown
When the Bucs were trailing by a huge margin in the third quarter, Antonio started taking off his pads, gloves, and T-shirt. He tossed his T-shirt and glove towards the crowd and walked towards the sidelines shirtless. His teammates attempted to calm him down but that didn’t have any effect on him.
After the game, coach Bruce Arians made it clear that it was the end of the road for Antonio with the Bucs. “He is no longer a Buc,” Arians said. “All right? That’s the end of the story. Let’s talk about the guys who went out there and won the game.”
Tom Brady also reacted to Antonio’s meltdown after the game. He said, “I think everybody should hopefully do what they can to help him in ways that he really needs it, we all love him. We care about him deeply. We want to see him be at his best.”
“Unfortunately he can’t be with our team but we have a lot of friendships that will last,” Brady claimed. “Again I think the most important things about football are the relationships with your friends and your teammates, and they go beyond the field. I think everyone should be very compassionate and empathetic with some difficult things that are happening,” he further added.
It is extremely important for the Bucs to leave all what transpired behind and focus on the upcoming games as probably the only thing that will erase all bad memories is a Super Bowl win.
