The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a great season this time around as well after winning the Super Bowl last season. Once again, Tom Brady led his team from the front and despite off-field issues like that of Antonio Brown, the Bucs continued to perform as per expectations.

However, their dream run came to an end in the Divisional Playoff clash against the Rams. As expected, as soon as the Bucs were knocked out, speculations about Tom Brady’s retirement started flooding in. Recently, in the latest episode of his Let’s Go podcast Brady reflected on the loss against the Rams and discussed the way forward for himself.

“We never know what’s going to happen in the future”: Tom Brady

Brady expressed gratitude towards the game, the team, and everyone involved. He stated that instead of fixating too much on what is to come, one must focus on what is going on. “We never know what’s going to happen in the future, we really don’t,” Brady said, as reported by Rick Stroud of Tampa Bay Times.

Tom went on to mention basketball legend Kobe Bryant on the podcast. He said, “I mean, Kobe Bryant, a friend of ours, God rest his soul. You think you’re going to live forever, we’re not. We think we’re going to play forever, we’re not. What can we do?

We can enjoy the moments that we have. As difficult as it was to lose the game on Sunday, I was glad I played in it, and I was glad I was a part of it,” Tom further said. Indeed, Tom has a valid point. Although the Bucs lost, they should be very proud of how they have played in the entire season.

As far as Tom’s retirement is concerned, when someone as big as him is in the latter stages of his career, people are bound to raise such speculations. However, one must also look at what the man himself wants and how he is performing. He has outplayed innumerable young quarterbacks this season as well as he has said already, before he starts stinking, he will announce his retirement.
