Looks like this is the end of the line for Tom Brady. The Bucs QB recently said he’s not in a rush to reveal his future in the NFL. The Buccaneers were defeated by the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional round game. This defeat stirred up Brady’s retirement talks.

Numerous sources close to the legendary QB have revealed that Brady is planning to walk away from football with an official statement expected shortly.

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports — “Several sources who are within Brady’s inner circle anticipate that he will most likely reveal his future plans in the coming days. Brady is a historian of the game, he understands what it takes for players and teams to reach this point in the season, and would not want to upstage the game itself in any way.”

Making an announcement the week leading up to the Super Bowl would not be his style, and waiting until after the Super Bowl, with the scouting combine then just weeks away, might begin to cut into the Buccaneers’ ability to pivot as an organization and readjust their plans for 2022 if it was now to not include arguably the greatest football player who ever lived.”

Tom Brady’s talked about playing until he’s 45 which will turn this August. “I feel like I want to play as a championship-level player,” Brady said earlier addressing his retirement. “That’s what I’ve said for a long time. When I’m not able to do that — I said a long time ago, when I suck I’ll retire — but what I really meant was when I’m not capable of leading the team to victory, then someone else has to do the job.”

If the 44-year old QB does decide to retire, what a legendary career he’s had. The Ex-New England Patriot QB has won 7 Super Bowls, 5 Super Bowl MVPs, 3 league MVPs, three first-team All-Pro selections, 15 Pro Bowl selections, and many other achievements which no other QB in the history of the league has ever had.

“I’m gonna spend some time with them and give them what they need, ’cause they’ve really been giving me what I need the last six months to do what I love to do. I said this a few years ago, it’s what relationships are all about. It’s not always what I want. It’s what we want as a family. And I’m gonna spend a lot of time with them and figure out in the future what’s next,” Brady said after the Rams loss.

Brady will go down in history as the greatest of all time. The future Hall of Famer is currently under contract with the Bucs through 2022 for $25 million. If he does hang his cape, Tampa Bay would get back $16 million of his signing bonus.
