“If there was any year to miss, I missed a great one,” Travis Etienne non repentant on missing out 2021 season for the Jaguars due to foot injury

The Jacksonville Jaguars had a shocking season last time out, as they finished bottom of their division with an appalling win lose ratio. The franchise only won 3 of their 17 matches and also had off field troubles as their coach Urban Meyer created major controversy.

All of these culminated to an appalling season for them, one which running back Travis Etienne did not mind missing even though it would have been his rookie year in the NFL. Etienne suffered a horror season ending Lisfranc injury during the offseason.

The running back had to undergo surgery and hence missed the entirety of the last season. However, he does not count himself unlucky at missing the last season because of what eventually unfolded in the franchise.

“Just seeing the results, you’re definitely like, ‘Whew, if there was any year to miss, I missed a great one,'” Etienne said via ESPN’s Michael DiRocco.

Having said that, Travis Etienne is in no mood to miss the next season and is well on course to return to full fitness after his surgery went completely according to plan. Travis Etienne was of the opinion that he hardly feels that there’s a screw installed in his foot and is returning to normalcy day by day, through his rehabilitation process off the field.

It’s actually crazy because I was talking to my mom about this the other day,” Travis Etienne said, via ESPN. “If I didn’t know I had a screw in my foot, I couldn’t tell. I feel like that’s a testament to where I’m at in my transition and how I’m healing.”

The screw is there. I think I will take it out. I could leave it there forever. I know most guys say leave it there, it never bothers them, but I just don’t want to be 40 years old with a screw in my foot, really.
