“His career would already be over if he played football” – Twitter can’t control its laughter as an old video of LeBron James playing wideout in high school resurfaces

LeBron James
LeBron James is a name to reckon with in the NBA world. King James as he is commonly referred has done it all in basketball. He has won 4 NBA championships, four NBA finals MVPs, four NBA MVPs, two Olympic medals, and many records. King James is often the topic of debate for fans and critics in contention over the GOAT in basketball alongside Michael Jordan.
However, one does wonder what it would be like if James played in the NFL rather than the NBA. Like most athletes, James played football and basketball in high school but he opted out of football due to a wrist injury his senior year.
LeBron James wouldn’t have survived in the NFL

SportsCenter posted an old video on Twitter of LeBron James playing wide receiver in high school. It was a treat to watch him play WR and make it difficult for DBs to cover him. King James would’ve made a formidable WR or TE given his humongous size. James stands tall at 6’8” 250 lb. The closest athlete in the NFL to James is Clavin Johnson aka MEGATRON.
Johnson was 6’5” 235 lb, at a disadvantage in size but he was definitely faster than James. Playing WR or TE requires the athlete to have elite speed, and quick moves to create the necessary separation to make that important first down play. The All-Star forward simply lacks the speed to play these positions in the NFL.
Additionally, NBA stars play in nice, friendly, air-conditioned arenas, unlike NFL stars. Football is a contact sport that exacts a toll on the body it is played under temperatures ranging from 100 degrees in the Arizona desert to the 30 mph winds and heavy snow in Lambeau Field. LeBron James might lack the mental toughness to play in the NFL. Nonetheless, it would’ve been a treat to watch someone of his stature play in the NFL. James is the greatest where he is and we can only dream of what it would’ve been had he not given up football.
