Dwayne Haskins Jr. was a name to reckon with in the world of American football. The talented quarterback played in the NFL for three seasons and was starting to show his real prowess on the field. He played college football at Ohio State, where he impressed one and all with his performances.
In fact, Dwayne was able to set Big Ten Conference records for single-season passing yards and touchdowns as a sophomore back in 2018. As expected, he won the Sammy Baugh Trophy and Kellen Moore Award for his terrific performances.
“Gone too soon”: Steelers QB Dwayne Haskins dies in a truck accident
The world was left shellshocked when it was confirmed by official sources that Haskins has passed away in a truck accident in South Florida. The 24-year-old quarterback was walking on the highway for ‘unknown reasons’ as per police when he was hit by a dump truck.
Haskins was involved in a training camp in South Florida with other Pittsburgh Steelers quarterbacks, wide receivers, and running backs. Several of his teammates and near ones posted emotional messages on social media after his untimely demise. Amidst all this, we came across an old video of Haskins that has left innumerable people teary-eyed.
In the video, a young Dwayne Haskins can be seen walking around the Ohio State campus. “I’m going to go to college here,” he can be heard saying in the video. Indeed, Dwayne touched innumerable lives and his contribution to the sport will never be forgotten.
What has left innumerable people across the planet aching is the fact that he had so much to look forward to, so much to achieve and it all came to an abrupt end.
