“Would love to hear how the phone conversation went,” Washington Commanders called on Kansas City Chiefs over a possible Patrick Mahomes trade

Washington Commanders had an underwhelming season in 2021, as they finished third in the NFC East competition, which meant a failure to secure a playoff spot. The franchise have found it very difficult over the past few years to have a consistent run into the playoffs.

The major problem for the Commanders has been their inability to have a settled No.1 quarterback in the side. They have been very unlucky with their quarterback positions in the past, and are now looking to find a long-term solution for the problem at hand.

In their pursuit of a solution, Washinton Commanders reportedly made a call to the Kansas City Chiefs to ponder over the prospective trade of Chiefs’ talisman young quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Leading NFL reporter, John Keim said that the Commanders had reached out to all of the NFL teams to find a quarterback. Hence everyone worked out that the Washington Commanders had also called on the Chiefs for the services of Patrick Mahomes.

“According to a source, Washington has reached out to every team to inquire about a quarterback’s availability and the cost,” John Keim reported on ESPN. “The team started its search with a list of 42 quarterbacks.”

Although it is highly unlikely that the Chiefs would let go of their star quarterback, Mahomes, the Commanders would claim that it was worth a try to lure the 25-year old quarterback into their side.
