WATCH: Joe Burrow performed the Ice Bucket Challenge back in high school
Joe Burrow
Joe Burrow has been a superstar the entire season. The Bengals quarterback suffered an injury in his rookie season in Week 11. Burrow didn’t play a single game after Week 11.
Burrow made an exceptional recovery and now he’s led Cincinnati to the Super Bowl. He is the perfect example of how one should deal with adversities and overcome them to come back stronger than ever.
Joe Burrow has ended the Bengals’ playoffs drought but can he end their Super Bowl drought?
Joe Burrow did the Ice Bucket Challenge back in 2014 when the challenge went viral. “My name is Joe Burrow. I’m doing the Ice Bucket Challenge for the ALS organization and I challenge coach Urban Meyer”, Burrow said just before a bucket full of ice was poured on him. Burrow tried to walk off the freezing sensation that he was feeling as all his friends were chuckling.
ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is an activity involving the pouring of a bucket of ice water over a person’s head, either by another person or self-administered, to promote awareness of the disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, also known as motor neuron disease and in the United States as Lou Gehrig’s disease) and encourage donations to research.
Cincinnati Bengals won their last playoff game in 1990. Then comes in Joe Burrow and leads the Bengals to their first playoff win in 31 years when they defeated the Las Vegas Raiders in the wild card weekend. The 25-year old QB set another milestone after Cincinnati advanced to their first AFC Championship game since 1988.
Burrow set many records in the postseason. The No. 1 draft pick from LSU became the first QB drafted No.1 overall to start a conference championship within his first 2 seasons. If the Bengals win the Super Bowl, Joe Burrow will become the 1st QB in NFL history to win the Heisman trophy, a National Championship, and a Super Bowl.
The Bengals will travel to Los Angeles to face the Rams at their home ground for the ultimate glory — Super Bowl LVI.
