The league is steadily approaching the much anticipated 2023 NFL Draft, which is set to take place for three days in the last week of April. As a part of the draft process, the college football players who have declared for the draft have gone through various processes to show off their athletic abilities to the NFL franchises. Even recently, the Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud made a remarkable performance during Ohio State’s pro just a few days ago.

His exceptional outing on Ohio State’s pro day was a crucial one since it might have given him an edge over the other talented quarterbacks, like Bryce Young and Anthony Richardson.

C.J. Stroud was born on October 3, 2001, in Rancho Cucamonga, California. At the starting stages of his career, Stroud was considered a 3-star recruit, but by the time he finished high school, Stroud was regarded as the third-best QB in the nation of his class.

After receiving high interest from D1 schools, Stroud committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes on 2020 National Signing Day. Furthermore, Stroud sat behind the now-Chicago Bears QB Justin Fields during his freshman year. In 2021, he became the starter over other talented QBs like Quinn Ewers and never looked back.

During his 2-year stint as the starter of the Buckeyes football team, Stroud threw for 8123 yards and 85 touchdowns with an impressive 69.3 completion percentage. Besides, the QB only threw for 12 interceptions in his whole career. He ended up as a Heisman Finalist and also won the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year award in both years as a starter. After an impressive stint with the Buckeyes, Stroud declared for the 2023 NFL Draft in February.

C.J. Stroud is one of the most sought QBs in the 2023 draft class. While many of the other quarterbacks have some concerns, Stroud is considered the sure-shot pick of his class.

Stroud has an amazing deep ball, is impressive on his feet, and is an accurate passer. Moreover, his pocket awareness is already better than some of the QBs in the league. Yes, he had some incredible weapons during his career at Ohio State, but Stroud torched the scary Georgia defensive in the CFP semi-finals despite losing his number-one receiver in the first half itself.

Bryce Young is considered to be undersized to lead an NFL franchise as compared to the prototype NFL QB (like Anthony Richardson) and is labeled as raw and a risky prospect. But the 6’3″ QB Stroud has impressed the NFL scouts throughout the draft process. So, it won’t be a surprise to anyone if C.J. Stroud ended up becoming the first overall pick in the 2023 Draft. Even if he isn’t, he will certainly get drafted within the Top 10 picks in the first round.
