“What just happened?!” Twitter hilariously reacts to the complicated trade between the Philadelphia Eagles and New Orleans Saints

New Orleans Saints

The Philadelphia Eagles and New Orleans Saints are two teams in somewhat different positions heading into 2022. As such, they made a rather complicated trade involving only draft picks.

The New Orleans Saints will be receiving the 16th and 19th overall picks as well as a 6th rounder from the 2022 NFL Draft and will be giving the Philadelphia Eagles the 18th overall pick from this year’s draft along with 3rd round and 7th round pick and a 1st rounder from 2023 and a 2nd rounder from 2024.

It may seem confusing but it’s kind of a win-win. The Saints are trying to remain competitive in 2022 and having two first-round picks gives them the opportunity to add crucial talent at a low cost to do so. As for the Eagles, they get to load up on draft picks and either use that to get players or trade up in the future.

Now, technically, the trade isn’t too complicated but it’s just the way that it’s been portrayed. So here’s a more simplified way of looking at it.

  • New Orleans Saints receive:
  • 16th, 19th and 6th round pick from 2022
  • Philadelphia Eagles receive:
  • 18th, 3rd round and 7th round picks from 2022
  • 1st round pick from 2023
  • 2nd round pick from 2024

Not everyone got to take a look at the trade in an easier way and it provided some truly funny reactions to it.
