“This is his thing”: Andrew Dalton says he wants to make Jameis Winston the best player he can be

Andrew Gregory Dalton, popularly known as “The Red Rifle” is a veteran quarterback who has made a name for himself at the highest level. Dalton was first drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals back in 2011 and has since played for the Cowboys, and Chicago Bears as well.

Dalton enjoyed his time with the Bengals. He spent 9 years with them and guided his team to five consecutive playoff appearances. After being released from the Bengals, spent a year each with the Cowboys and the Bears and now, he is all set to feature for the Saints.

Dalton has got loads of experience that will come in handy for the Saints. He started 148 games over 11 seasons and is a three-time Pro Bowler as well. Dalton recently signed a one-year deal with the Saints and he will act as a backup for Jameis Winston.

Talking about his role as Winston’s backup, according to NFL.com, Dalton recently claimed, “This is his thing, and I’m here to help him out in any way that I can,” adding that he is supremely excited to be in the same room as him.

I’m excited to work with him, excited to be in the same room, and see everything I can do to help him out to make him the best player he can be,” he added. Before roping in Dalton, the Saints resigned Winston for a two-year extension. It will be interesting to see how the Saints perform this year.
