Joey Porter Jr. played college football for the Penn State Nittany Lions, a football program that represents Pennsylvania State University in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision. He joined the team as a freshman in 2019 and has since become a starting cornerback for the Nittany Lions.

Porter Jr. was considered amongst the best prospects after high school and was ranked 4th in Pennsylvania Senior Class. This got him eyeballs from various universities including LSU and Arizona State.

The 22-year-old CB had an impressive high school football career at North Allegheny High School in Wexford, Pennsylvania, where he was a highly sought-after recruit. He ultimately played for Penn State, a program with a rich football tradition and a history of producing top NFL talent.

Porter Jr. attended the Catholic High School in Cranberry Township before getting transferred to North Allegheny High School. Apart from completely dominating football at Penn State University, the 22-year-old CB opted for majors in rehabilitation and human services. He also desires to take over his mother’s daycare business in the future.

As a freshman in 2019, Porter Jr. played in all 13 games for Penn State, primarily on special teams. He recorded three tackles during the season. In 2020, he earned a starting spot at cornerback and played in all nine games of the shortened season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He finished the season with 20 tackles, one interception, and three passes defended.

Joey Porter Jr’s parents are Joey Porter Sr. and Christy Porter and his sophomore season was his best yet as he recorded 39 solo tackles during the season while assisting for another 11 in just 13 games. His form faltered a bit in his senior season. However, his performance was still good and it led him to register himself for the NFL draft. Currently, Joey Porter Jr. eagerly waits for Thursday Night to decide his future in the league and the team he’ll play at.
