The second day of the 2023 NFL has successfully concluded. The first two days of the draft have been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride for everyone in the league. It came as no shock when the Panthers selected Bryce Young first overall. However, the Texans had everyone pop their eyeballs out as they had the 2nd and 3rd picks and selected C.J. Stroud and Will Anderson Jr. respectively.

The Tennessee Titans ended the 2022 season with a 7-10 record that had a seven-game losing streak to close out the campaign. They missed out on playoffs for the first time since 2018 so they needed playmakers to strengthen their holds on both sides of the scrimmage line.

The Titans desperately needed someone to fill the gap in the offensive line because only one of their starters from last year is currently under contract. First-year general manager Ran Carthon did the smart thing and drafted Northwestern’s offensive tackle Peter Skoronski 11th overall. This concluded the Titans’ first day of the draft as unlike the Seahawks, Eagles, and Texans they just had one pick.

Kentucky’s signal caller Will Levis got all dressed up and arrived in Kansas City with his friends and family in the hopes of getting drafted in the first round. Unfortunately, he wasn’t picked by a single team which was quite humiliating. After being mocked on live television, Levis didn’t attend the second day of the draft.

Thankfully, the Titans picked Will Levis with the 33rd overall pick. This came as a big relief for the Kentucky quarterback but he wasn’t present at the ceremony. Tennessee traded up to select the 23-year-old. Levis and his family flew to Connecticut for a family gathering and just moments after stepping in the house, Will Levis got the call that he had been selected by the Titans.

“I was a crying mess but it was so funny,” Levis said via The Guardian. “We’re all in our airport clothes, a very different atmosphere compared to getting dressed up with the nice suits and dresses last night. But this is what was meant to be and I was ecstatic to get the call.”

Ran Carthon is being heavily trolled by fans on the Internet for drafting Will Levis in the first place. The reason is that the team already has veteran Ryan Tannehill and 2022 third-round pick Malik Willis.

Tannehill had a great season in 2021 when he led the Titans to the No.1 seed in a dominant AFC. However, last season was a bit letdown for him and there are rumors that he is probably leaving Tennessee before the start of the 2023 season. The Titans did start Malik Willis for three games and he went 1-2 in those encounters.

Maybe the Titans should’ve put a bit of their faith in Willis in the 2023 season but they went ahead and added another quarterback. There hasn’t been any indication from head coach Mike Vrebal as to who will line up under center in Week 1 but by the looks of the job is up for grabs. It’s anybody’s guess as to who will be the starting quarterback. Might be Tannehill or Willis or Levis.
