Those familiar with college football know that Caleb Williams paints his nails before each game. In the Pac-12 Championship Game against Utah, Williams painted his nails with a simple message: “F— Utah.” He had done the same against Notre Dame where he painted “F— NDXX” on his nails. It became clear to football fanatics that this was a trend and the entire nation wanted to know why Williams paints his nails.

Back in December 2022, Caleb Williams was invited on “Good Morning America” where he was asked why he painted his nails before every game. Williams answered that the reason behind his painted nails is his mom. “My mom was my inspiration,” he said. “I mean, she’s been doing nails since I could remember. And she’s always done it. I think since she was probably like 14, she’s always done it.

“So, that was a little time before I was born. And so ever since I was born, she’s been doing it. I would always sit around or just you know, either I’m playing my game or I’ll mess my mom, I still mess my mom a lot. So I was playing my game, messing with my mom, and kind of just sitting there she’d always do my nails. I didn’t get paint on him, but she’d always do ’em.”

Caleb Williams is set to enter the 2024 NFL draft forgoing his senior year at USC. Draft experts believe Williams will be the first overall pick in the 2024 draft that is set to take place on April 25–27, 2024 in Detroit, Michigan, near Campus Martius Park and Hart Plaza. Let’s hope Caleb Williams continues his tradition of painting nails in the NFL as well!
