With the free agency coming up along with the NFL draft, teams are in a hurry to recruit the best talent into their organization to be a Super Bowl contender. The most important position of the sport is the quarterback. While most of the teams are happy with their current situation, others are looking for a franchise QB.

Washington Commanders are openly talking about drafting a QB which most teams don’t advertise. The Commanders have made several phone calls to teams in the NFL to look for a trade. They were willing to give up multiple first-round picks for Russell Wilson but the Seahawks declined their proposal.

Russell Wilson being traded will be ultimately decided by him

There were rumors floating around the league that the perennial Pro Bowler was looking to be traded. But, the important thing to keep in mind is that Wilson has a no-trade clause in his contract. This gives him the power to decline a trade offer if he doesn’t like the team he’s being traded to.

NFL analysts on Good Morning Football had an in-depth discussion on Wilson’s trade talks. “If you don’t have a great QB like Russell Wilson you’re constantly searching for one,” Peter Schrager said. “Give me four first-round picks for Russell Wilson. That’s great. I’ll take all the Jordan Davis’ in the world but can you throw a football? It’s part of the reason why I don’t think we’re gonna see as much movement as far as trades go.”

So, Schrager is of the opinion that Wilson’s trade will be decided by the quarterback himself and not the Seahawks. And it looks like he is content with his current situation in Seattle. Wilson has the hunger to win and as long as the Seattle front office provides him with the opportunity to do that, he won’t talk about being traded. Therefore, it’s time to close the door on Russell Wilson trade talks.
