The situation in Vancouver Canucks has been intensifying not only because of their poor 2022-23 NHL regular season performance but also because of coach Bruce Boudreau’s apparent firing. Boudreau is one of the most beloved coaches in the NHL, and his firing rumors have wreaked havoc in the social media world.

Fans have been reacting very negatively, even fans from other teams have been noticed supporting Boudreau. Their statement remains the same, ‘Bruce Boudreau doesn’t deserve to be treated so poorly’. Nevertheless, Boudreau’s take on the whole situation has been heartbreaking for everyone.

Earlier and even during Friday’s interview, the Canucks coach choked up while answering the reporter’s questions and softly excused himself from the room. On the other hand, Rick Tocchet being the replacement for Boudreau has also shown quite a negative impact.

According to Rick Tocchet, nothing is set on paper, but Canucks president Jim Rutherford confirmed they have spoken to the 58-year-old, and have been proceeding with talks. During Friday’s interview, Boudreau stated that he’s not a fool who doesn’t know what’s going on with his position.

When asked if he feels emotional in the last few remaining matches, Bruce Boudreau replied, “You love it. You want to go do it. That’s how you shut it out”.  The tense air magnified on Friday as the coach was not seen behind the practice bench. He jokingly stated, “Fooled you, eh?

“I’ve got my wife phoning me saying, ‘You’re not on the ice! Is everything OK?'” “I’m still here!”. “I just don’t go on the ice all the time.” He later excused himself by saying, “I’ll talk later”. As for what’s going on with Tocchet’s situation, TSN insider Chris John noted that there’ll be a change and it’ll be soon, according to Yahoo Sports.

Boudreau isn’t the only one who’s in trouble, but also a few others as Tocchet is supposedly bringing in staff members of his own. TSN insider Johnston said, “It sounds as though negotiations have started on that deal, that Rick Tocchet will probably arrive in Vancouver with a couple additions to his coaching staff as well”.

“Of course, nothing’s officially done one hundred percent until pens have been put to paper. That hasn’t happened yet, but it does sound as though it’s getting very close.”
