Connor McDavid wins Art Ross and ‘Rocket’ Richard Trophy prior Stanley Cup season, NHL Twitter reacts
Connor McDavid is no stranger to Art Ross Trophy as he won the award 5-times in his career, but this season he grabbed the ‘Rocket’ Richard Trophy for the 1st time in his NHL years.

Connor McDavid, ‘The Chosen One’ won the Art Ross Trophy for the 5th time in his career, while securing the Maurice ‘Rocket’ Richard Trophy for the 1st time. He became NHL top scoring and goal-scoring champion, dishing out a fabulous 2022-23 season.
He became the 3rd player to lead the league in each category with 64 goals, 89 assists, and 153 points in a season. He surpassed Phil Esposito who had 152 points with the Bruins in 76 points and 76 assists. The only players to enjoy more points in a season are, Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, and Steve Yzerman.
McDavid’s closest competitor is Bruins, David Pastrnak with 61 points, three goals behind of M’David. The Oilers captain’s closest competitor for Art Ross Trophy is his own linemate Leon Draisaitl who secured 128 points, 25 less than ‘The Chosen One’.

Finishing 2nd in Western Conference Pacific Division, the Edmonton Oilers are prepping to take on Los Angeles Kings on Monday, April 17. Securing trophies prior to the Stanley Cup race starts has excited the Oilers fans who are looking forward to some relish in some excitement on the ice.

Since his 2015 NHL Draft, Connor McDavid has showcased stellar performances, earning him the nickname ‘McJesus’. With the Stanley Cup season knocking at the door, NHL teams are scurrying over to prep for the Cup race. Especially Avalanche as they look forward to winning back-to-back Stanley Cups.
