Evander Kane is a professional ice hockey player for the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League. He is a professional left-winger and was selected in the first round as the 4th overall in the 2009 NHL Draft by the Atlanta Thrashers. Later in July 2009, he signed an entry-level contract with the Atlanta Thrashers. He debuted on October 3, 2009, as part of the NHL and scored his first goal in a 4-2 win against Saint Louis Blues. On February 11, 2015, he got traded to the Buffalo Sabres, and once again in February 2018, the Sabres traded him to the San Jose Sharks.

He became the first San Jose Sharks player to set a franchise history record with a first-period hat trick in a 5-2 win against the Carolina Hurricanes. On January 27, 2022, Evander Kane signed a 1-year contract with the Edmonton Oilers. He scored a game-opening goal against the Montreal Canadians over a 7-2 victory on January 29. He led the team to qualify for the Stanley Cup Playoffs in  2022 by scoring 22 goals and 17 assists and by finishing second in the Atlantic Division.
