Joel Farabee undergoes disc replacement surgery
Philadelphia Flyers forward, Joel Farabee will be out of commission due to disc replacement surgery. He is expected to make a full recovery by the end of it all, but he may be missing out for 3-4 months at the beginning of the season. The Flyers announced that he has undergone a successful disc replacement surgery in his cervical region on Friday morning. He is expected to be fit and join the team by the end of 3-4 months.
Unfortunately, Farabee will be missing out on the first season of the Flyer’s training camp that’s dated to be held on September 21st, under new head coach John Tortorella. Joe Farabee is the third NHL player to have undergone a disc replacement surgery. Vegas Golden Knights Jack Eichel and Chicago Blackhawks Tyler Johnson went down the same procedure, respectively in November and December.
Joel Farabee is to miss out on the beginning of the season
After Jack Eichel of the Vegas Golden Knights underwent disc replacement surgery, Dr Chad Prusmack joined Jeff Marek and Elliotte Friedman on the 32 Thoughts Podcast to explain the details and effectiveness of the operation. Dr Prusmack said, “This is one of those operations they wake up from surgery and they want to hug you. It is extremely effective. It’s extremely safe”.
After recovering from the surgery Jack Eichel as a record has posted 14 goals and 25 points in a total of 34 games with the Vegas Golden Knights, as pointed out on broadstreethockey.com. Till now, Joel Farabee is coming down with a 17-goal and 34-point campaign with the Philadelphia Flyers and has only appeared in 63 games due to a shoulder injury that pushed him to the injured reserve list two separate times. Farabee has a total of 45 goals and 93 points in 170 games since being selected by the Flyers in the 2018 NHL Draft.
