“The first pitch” – Ice hockey center Matty Beniers throws pitch at Seattle Mariners game

On Sunday, Seattle Kraken center Matty Beniers accompanied by NHL draftee Shane Wright hit the MLB grounds. Beniers stood on the mound and threw the first pitch at the Seattle Mariners game against the Toronto Blue Jays at T-Mobile Park yesterday.
The Seattle Kraken forward commented on Kraken’s Instagram story, “I had an awesome time throwing out the first pitch”. Beniers sported a custom Mariners jersey with his surname on the nameplate and etched his jersey No. 10 on the back. But he didn’t take on the Ballpark alone. Shane Wright was drafted by the Kraken as the 4th overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft.

Matthew or Matty Beniers is an American professional ice hockey player, drafted 2nd overall by the Seattle Krakens during the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut on 12 April 2022 and recorded his first assists in a game against the Calgary Flames. he made a name for himself before his NHL drafting when he was playing collegiate hockey. He received recognition for his excellent performance.

Simultaneously he played on the international stage at the U-18, World Junior Championships, World Championships, and Winter Olympics. On the other hand, Shane Wright is also a newcomer to the Kraken team, after his recent drafting in the 2022 Upper Deck NHL Draft, as per nhl.com. The rookies made their appearance at the baseball game on Sunday. We will see more of them once the season begins.
