“What happened to our lines?” – Joseph Woll SURPRISED seeing Ryan O’Reilly while “the Factor” douses himself with sports drink

During the game with his new team Leafs, Ryan O’Reilly’s nerves must’ve overtaken him as the forward doused himself with BioSteel.

Leafs Joseph Woll and Ryan O’Reilly made themselves quite famous with a recent few incidents. One of the NHL’s best two-way forwards Ryan O’Reilly is making a huge splash with his new team, not only on the ice but apparently with water too.

Not only did the forward fumble his way onto the ice, but he also splashed himself with BioSteel, a sports drink mistakenly. He quickly corrected himself as he washed off the sports drink with water, and didn’t let his nerves get the better of him during his game against Montreal Canadiens.

Even though his trade news made a huge splash on the internet, his own team goalie was kept in dark until Saturday night. Leafs starting goaltender Joseph Woll was shocked to see their Saturday lineup, as he was not aware of Ryan’s trade. The reason he mentioned, was not having social media presence.

Joseph Woll, Toronto Maple Leafs’ starting goaltender admitted being in dark about Ryan O’Reilly and Noel Acciari as he had no access to social media. A reporter asked if he had a cell phone, to which the 24-year-old replied that he has, but not on social media.

He laughed about the occurrence and admitted being shocked to see two St. Louis Blues players on his team. Both Ryan and Noel could’ve joined the Leafs in Chicago on Sunday, but the duo chose to wear the Leafs’ jersey on Saturday itself in a 5-1 victory over Montreal Canadiens

Ryan commented postgame, “Great to dive right in”. “Pretty crazy (to start the game). I’m still in shock I’m here.” “It’s like going into cold water, I think it’s better just to jump head first into it”. “I’m glad it worked out, big win for us. It’s a very good team and I’m very excited to be a part of it.”

In his debut, Ryan won 12 out of 14 faceoffs, tallying a secondary assist in Michael Bunting’s goal on Saturday. Defenceman Rasmus Sandin handed the forward the team’s player of the game belt. He called his debut experience with the Leafs “rejuvenating”.

Following his lightning debut as a Leafs, he made sure he scored at least a point on the ice. Being traded can often get on nerves, even for Stanley Cup Champions and Ryan proved he’s no different. At the end of the warmups, he fumbled around the bottles to cool himself.

Mistakenly, he took a BioSteel bottle and poured it on his head only to realize what it was. He righted his wrong action, by picking up a water bottle and washing the sports drink off his hair. Nevertheless, the Conn Smythe Trophy winner got himself a point in his Leafs’ debut.
