Marc-Andre Fleury signs with Minnesota Wild
Minnesota Wild’s goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury is out of the rink with an upper-body injury. He got injured during the Wild’s match against Nashville Predators on Tuesday. As of now, it is been stated, that the goalie should be back in seven days approximately.
The team lost to the Predators 2-1, where the Vezina Trophy winner made 23 saves in the game. Due to his absence, goalie Zane Mclntyre is called from Iowa of the American Hockey League. This season, Zane made a record of 6-4-1 with a 2.80 GAA, a .906 save percentage, and 1 shutout in 12 starts.
Wild coach Dean Evason commented, “It’s hard to say too much”. “It’s just an upper-body injury that we hope will be shorter than longer. We’ll continue to evaluate. (He’s) getting treatment and getting it looked after, so hopefully we’ll have it sooner rather than later.”
Team expects Marc-Andre Fleury’s return to be within a week

Coach Dean further stated, “I don’t know [what happened]. There’s several situations, a lot of contact in that game (in Nashville) both ways. Both goalies got bumped a lot. I’m not going to get into details. We’re not 100 percent on the exact time of that.”
Zane who is recalled from AHL, scored 4-3-0 this season with a 3.08 goals-against-average, and a .903 save percentage. In 2016-17, he played with the Boston Bruins, recording, 0-4-1 with a 3.97 GAA, and a .858 save percentage in 8 National Hockey League games.
After getting drafted by the Pittsburg Penguins as the No. 1 pick during the 2003 NHL Draft, Fleury ranked 3rd on the all-time wins list, 6th in games, and 12th in shutouts. Apart from the Penguins and Wild, he also played with Vegas Golden Knights and Chicago Blackhawks.
In his NHL career, he made 526-303-86 with 2 ties and 72 shutouts in 951 games. He is the 3rd goalie to ever reach the 500-victory mark in NHL, following Patrick Roy and Martin Brodeur. Last year Fleury won the Vezina Trophy and the William M. Jennings Trophy. He’s an excellent player whose return the team is already anticipating.
