Boston Bruins fall hard against Florida Panthers as ‘The Cats’ take the lead in Game 5 scoring a 4-3 victory. The series will head into Game 6 with the Black and Gold stripes having a 3-2 edge over their opponents. Unfortunately, due to their star goalie, Linus Ullmark’s missed bar, the Panthers won the game although no one blamed him.

His teammates praised Ullmark for showing resilience throughout the season and pulling the Bruins to victory every time he participated on ice. Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron and head coach Jim Montogmery talked about shared responsibility wishing their goalie not take all the heavy burden by himself.

Ullmark’s missed save paved the road to Matthew Tkachuk’s grand shot leading the Panthers to win. Paul Maurice, Panthers head coach excitedly commented, “That guy is a — and then you put a long string of profanity — gamer”. “Is he not a gamer?

Linus Ullmark stated that he tried to put himself in a position to stop ‘The Cats’ attack, but failed to do so as the puck hits his skates only to end up in the hands of Panthers star Matthew Tkachuk. Tkachuk picked up the shot at 6:05 bouncing off Ullmark who was way out of his net. His backhanded shot kept the team alive, dragging it into Game 6.

Tkachuk questioned, “We were supposed to get swept in the series, right?” indicating the NHL fan favorite Bruins’ overwhelming performance in the regular season. The Bruins are still a favorite to win the Stanley Cup this season considering the several records the players and the team broke during the 2022-23 regular season.

Tkachuk confidently states that his team is ready and believes in each other to pull over another victory against the Bruins. After all the Panthers don’t want the series to end just yet. As Ullmark beats himself for the loss, Patrice Bergeron talks about how he pulled the team throughout the season.

Bergeron said that Ullmark has been a “rock for us all year”. He went on to state that whenever he’s been on the ice he had given them a chance to win so “He can’t be too hard on himself.” The Bruins are a team, and Bergeron reminds the goalie that they are “a unit of six” and if “you lose” you lose as a team, “He’s a tremendous goalie.”

Bergeron further goes down praising Ullmark that he’s probably “the best goalie in the NHL” and even win the Vezina Trophy in 2023 too. As the captain, he states that “We’re all there for each other and we’ve always said that. So chin up for him.” Even coach Jim Montgomery stated that they’ll be evaluating everything from scratch.

I have complete confidence in Ullmark.” Even if the team decides to go with Jeremy Swayman in the next game, Montgomery has confidence in him, “we have players that can go in and get the job done.” The Bruins did not practice on Thursday prior to their departure as they wish their little break could lessen the fatigue on Ullmark.

It would be no surprise if the goalie is fatigued both physically and mentally as he had rigorous starts in the last five games. Regular season games surely carry a punch of intensity, but that would compare to nothing considering the playoffs.
