Patrick Kane despite his injury has produced a well-off regular season with 26 assists and 9 goals in 46 games as part of the Chicago Blackhawks. Kane admitted that he had been looking at Rangers as a prospective team, but Vladimir Tarasenko’s trade has changed the whole picture.

He stated, “It’s not, like, the happiest I’ve been to hear about a trade”. “I think the Rangers are a team that you definitely pay attention to and definitely are intrigued by, for obvious reasons.”

“If things were going to happen, that was a team I was definitely looking at. It seems like they kind of filled their void and went ahead and made a deal, so it is what it is.”

The Rangers took in Vladimir, and Niko Mikkola in exchange for Sammy Blais, and Hunter Skinner, a 2023 conditional first-round pick, and a 2024 fourth-round selection. As Kane has the power of a no-movement clause he is free to choose his team and update GM Kyle Davidson.

He commented, “In fairness to Kyle, I haven’t went to Kyle and said, ‘I wanted to go here’ (or) ‘I want to (stay)’”. “I haven’t gotten to any of that yet. … I think within the next 10 days or so, we’ll probably get a clearer picture of what’s going to happen.”

When asked to clear rumors about his hip injury and if the case was indeed serious or not, Patrick Kane replied according to theScore, “I’m not sure what the story is, to be honest with you, but I feel better than I did last year”. “It’s just one of those things that maybe the story leaks out and it piles up a little bit.”

Though Artemi Panarin may not have gotten to the lineup with Kane, he got another friend of his with him. Vladimir and Panarin share deep friendship bonds, one that the forward dated back more than 10 years. Some fans are upset to not see Panarin and Kane pair up again, considering their dynamic power relationship on ice.
