C.O.D it is!! NHL Players reveal their favorite video game in 2022
Sebastian Aho, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Seth Jones
Ever curious to know what video games your favorite NHL player love to play? Not long ago the question was asked to the players, among which Call of Duty won as their favorite pastime. Vancouver Canucks defenceman Oliver Ekman-Larsson was the first to vote for Call of Duty.
The others who joined the rally were Chicago Blackhawks defenceman Seth Jones, Carolina Hurricanes center Sebastian Aho, and center Aleksander Barkov of Florida Panthers. This shooter video game sure placed itself in the hearts of famous hockey players.
Some players chose Call of Duty along with video games like Warzone and NHL. Thomas Chabot, Elias Petterson, and Auston Matthews are notable mentions. Matthews stated, “Probably NHL, Call of Duty one or the other. I enjoy playing a little Super Mega Baseball on the Nintendo Switch”.
NHL MVP Winner Sidney Crosby stood alone after voting for PUBG
The voting spree continued with video games like Fortnite, FIFA, NHL, and Madden on the table. While these games at least had a vote or two from other NHL players, Madden and PUBG didn’t get a vote other than Vegas Golden Knights center Jack Eichel, and Pittsburg Penguins Sidney Crosby respectively.
Crosby, also known as “The Next One” is not only an excellent hockey player but also a video gamer side by side. After voting for his favorite pastime, he stated, “I don’t really play a lot, but I was playing a little bit of PUBG…I’ll go with that because it’s really the only one I can play.”
Whether he is unable to play any other games than PUBG, it’s clear that as an ice hockey player himself, he excels in that feat. To date, he has participated in over 1,124 games, recording a score of 524 goals, and 902 assists, with a gathered point of 1,426.
Currently, he’s in a 12-year contract with his team for $104.4 million with an annual average value of $8.7 million. Eichel on the other hand is enjoying a salary of $10 million with a cap hit of the same amount in the 2022-23 season, according to CapFriendly. He has recorded 400 points with 163 goals and 237 assists in 426 games played.
