Ryan Reaves sure knows how to pump up the audience as he sends warning message to his former teammates ahead of Leafs vs. Wild’s opening night.

Toronto Maple Leafs’ face-off against Minnesota Wild is surely set to fire up NHL fans as Leafs enforcer Ryan Reaves threatened former teammates ahead of opening night. Rather than calling it a threat, the forward sent an ominous warning to his former Wild’s teammates to watch their backs while on ice.

Reaves, the enforcer, has always taken his role of hyping up the audience rather too seriously. Just a few days ago he thrashed the Canadiens’ defenceman Kaiden Guhle and got into a fight with Arber Xhekaj. He is once again ready to throw some fists down as he states, “that’s what I was brought here to do”.

He further talked about his role saying, “I like to bring energy, whether it’s in the locker room, on the bench, into the crowd.” His latest warning also carries the same energy as he boldly challenged his former teammates that he’ll go hard on them as they are his close buddies.

During an interview on Saturday, Reaves said that when “you’re better friends with them, you want to lay them out a little more.” He sarcastically carried on to say, “Unfortunately for them, I became pretty good friends with all of them.”

Will Ryan Reaves once again rile up the crowd like the night against the Canadiens?

While the answer to the question seems vague unless the regular season game whistle goes off, Ryan Reaves is expected to rile up the crowd and his teammates during the game. Although he has been part of the Wilds till 2023, he is far from being lenient towards his ex-teammates during the 2023-24 season.

During the Leafs’ first night against the Canadiens, Reaves started the party by crushing Kaiden Guhle, the 21-year-old Canadien rookie defenceman. He fearlessly stated, “If you want to fight, just ask me. I’m always around. You know where to find me.”

Reaves literally rammed the rookie into the boards as the team cheerfully achieved their 6-5 opening night victory. Although, Canadiens defenceman Arber Xhekaj called out Reaves on his move, little was done to mend the already slammed situation.

Xhekaj was handed a 10-minute misconduct with an extra 2 minutes for instigating a fight. He later stated that after the fight the two did not exchange any words and labeled their messed up situation as “more of a wrestling match”.

Ryan Reaves will not be stopping there. There’s a lot to cover in the regular season games, and surely there’ll be several Reaves moments as he lets loose his fighting spirit. He stated that he was on a mission to bring some “swagger” back into the Leafs locker room.
