Sidney Crosby SAVAGELY teases Jake Guentzel by making ‘pig noises’ following Penguins’ 4-0 win against Capitals
Is the Penguins captain Sidney Crosby finally letting loose of himself from his usual captain-serious face? At least that seemed to be the case after the latest Pens vs. Caps face-off.

Sidney Crosby seems to lose his usual captain-serious face often. At least that’s what seems to happen following the Pittsburgh Penguins’ 4-0 win against old rival Washington Capitals. Crosby according to NHL reporter Taylor Haase teased teammate hilariously as they were heading to the locker room.
Most of the players in the NHL have their own unique pre and post-game routines. That also seemed to be the case for Pens forward Jake Guentzel. Unfortunately, his routine was made public by their captain’s prank while on their way back to the locker room.
Seems like the Penguins’ win against the Capitals put everyone in the team in their best spirits, as Sidney Crosby mimicked “pig noises” to tease his teammate. Haase at first posted this hilarious encounter on X platform (earlier known as Twitter), which now seems to have been deleted.
Deleting the post may have been a personal choice, but it caught the attention of social media fans within the posted time. She noted, “Jake Guentzel just walked to through the room with his postgame meal and Sidney Crosby made pig noises at him.”
“I spin around like ????? and he’s like, ‘he eats like two meals after every game. The vibes in here are crazy.” Guentzel’s two postgame meal ritual may have won the Pens their game against the Caps, but needless to say, other players did a fantastic job to take the lead in their 2nd regular season game.
Sidney Crosby’s team wins against Alex Ovechkin’s Washington Capitals in an overwhelming 4-0 record
Although the start of the 2023-24 regular season games may have been a bit groggy against the Chicago Blackhawks, they surely pulled themselves together in their 2nd game. Sidney Crosby faced back-to-back challengers, one who admires him, Connor Bedard, and the other his longtime friend-cum-rival Alex Ovechkin.
The Capitals faced an ugly loss in their game against the Pens. Regardless of the match result, the fans were hyped up just to witness the old rivals going against each other, especially after their disappointing season opener against the Blackhawks.
With their latest win, the 36-year-old Penguins legend joined the exclusive 5-man club where NHL great Wayne Gretzky is part of. He completed his 30 career multi-point game against the Capitals franchise. He has now joined, ‘The Great Eight’, Marcel Dionne, Mario Lemieux, and Mark Recchi.
His extraordinary feat proved that age is only a number, not a matter when on ice. Both he and teammate Evgeni Malkin were praised for their contribution to the team’s win. Not only that, goaltender Tristan Jarry really popped off, as he blocked 19 goals from his opponents, achieving a flawless shutout record.
Crosby and Ovechkin’s rivalry has always been one of the biggest in NHL matches. Fans are now waiting to see when these two league legends will be facing off against each other. Not only are both of them veteran players on the ice, but Ovechkin is also carrying the burden of surpassing Gretzky’s record prior to his retirement.
The stakes are high as well as the 2023-24 regular season game tension. However, Ovie has noted that his primary focus is the games and getting into the 2024 Stanley Cup race with his teammates rather than focusing on Gretzky’s record. It’ll be worthwhile to see how the rest of the season goes.
