Although both legends have battled against each other multiple times in NHL, it’s still a privilege to watch them represent their respective teams in NHL. Even at 35, Sidney Crosby continues to show why he is called The Next One and is considered one of the best in the league.

Wayne Gretzky didn’t think twice when he praised Crosby for his game, choosing ‘Sid the Kid’ over Connor McDavid. As of now, Crosby has scored 68 points in 56 games with 25 goals and 43 assists. Oilers defenceman Cody Ceci commented on Crosby, “I think it’s just his day-to-day work ethic”.

“He’s always coming to the rink, trying to get better, although he’s one of the best to ever do it”. “When you see a guy like that trying to get better, it just pushes everyone around them.” Ceci further said that the trait of leadership and excellence that Crosby shows have also been noted in McDavid.

“I’ve been lucky enough to play with both of them. They’re both very passionate about the game. They both take it very seriously and I think that I mean, that shows why they’re the best players in the world”. “I mean, they’re both very competitive guys and they want to win every night and it shows.”

Ceci wasn’t the only one who praised the two stars. Oilers goalie Stuart Skinner grew up watching Crosby glowing in excellence while he also noticed his captain McDavid taking the torch and blossoming into one of the finest players in the NHL.

“I think they both got that killer instinct. Looking at Sidney, he’s always been that guy and that’s who Connor is too, right? I think both guys in their career have showed the whole world how good they can be.”

Skinner further said, “That’s what both of those guys do and that’s why it’s always so exciting to watch both of them go head-to-head, because you’re seeing the best players in the world take the first faceoff and battle all night long. So, it’s going to be a lot of fun tonight and it’s nice that I get to kind of be a part of that.”
