Edmonton Oilers mourn the passing away of Ben Stelter, the young boy who was considered the No. 1 fan, inspiration, and good luck charm for everyone in and out of the team.
Ben has made a massive impact on the Oilers and even their fans. It was he who lifted up the team’s spirit when they were in some desperate need of inspiration.

Ben’s been at mostly in all Oilers matches and has even skated with them. With his small stature, he’s been fighting his illness for a long time, but he never stopped smiling and gave his illness a punch in the face.
The Oilers said, that he was a huge part of the team, where he and his family shared their time, and friendship in allowing the team to be with him. His courage and giggle will be remembered by all of the players and fans and forever they will “Play La Bamba” in his memories.
The Oilers extended their condolences to Mike, Lea, Emmy, Dylan, and to the entire Stelter family, as noted by nhl.com. Before closing up, the team thanked his family to let them have the time with Ben during this last year. Ben will forever be a part of the Oilers family. May he rest in peace.
