The NHL world keeps on producing new stories. This past week the absence of Corey Perry from the NHL became the main attraction as the veteran player was scratched from the Chicago Blackhawks line-up. Since then the fans have been wondering why is he on a break from the regular season games.

According to the team, he was taken from the squad due to some “organizational decision“. GM Kyle Davidson then dropped a huge update regarding him and said he will be out for the foreseeable future. A new update regarding him has now shaken the hockey world.

It now seems his time with the Blackhawks is going to come to an abrupt end as the team is placed on waivers. The team is now terminating his contract for bringing harm to the professional workplace of the team.

In a statement per Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, Perry’s conduct backstage was found to be unacceptable by the team and thus they took this massive step:

"After an internal investigation, the Chicago Blackhawks have determined that Corey Perry has engaged in conduct that is unacceptable... As such, Corey Perry has been placed on unconditional waivers... we intend to terminate his contract effective immediately."

Before this announcement, a wild rumor regarding Connor Bedard erupted. Perry was said to have hooked up with Bedard’s mom Melanie. GM Davidson was quick to shut down this topic and claimed this decision does not involve any other players and their families.

In this rapid age of internet and technology, the rumors spread like fires. This is the same thing that happened with Connor Bedard as an ugly rumor regarding his mom and Corey Perry surfaced.

Perry was signed by the Blackhawks in June this year. He was looked upon as someone who could help out the young players especially Bedard, who was picked as the number one draft pick this season. Things though have not gone as the Blackhawks initially thought following the latest actions from the 38-year-old veteran.

Sometimes rumors can completely damage the image of a player in the eyes of the fan. For the young Bedard, things do not seem to ease down as the wild talks are spreading faster on social media. Users on X have taken jabs at Perry for his actions while some have joked about this situation.

To top all this off, the Blackhawks are enduring a difficult time on the ice field as well. They are bottom of their division table despite recording a 4-3 victory against the Seattle Kraken in their recent game. The Blackhawks fans would be hoping this situation regarding Perry dies soon so that they can look forward to improving this season.
