“Effort wasn’t just there” – Jonathan Toews wishes for an open line of communication with Blackhawks coaches, GM Davidson
Jonathan Toews
Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews wants to have a conversation with the supervisor/manager Kyle Davidson and the coaching employees, as the Chicago Blackhawks undergo transitional interval. With the Blackhawks sitting 27th in the National Hockey League lineup and struggling with an 8-game dropping streak, Toews stated Thursday that he wants to have a trustworthy open communication as to what the team expects of him as the captain,
“I just think sometimes it helps me to hear their honesty,” “I simply suppose it helps to have that line of communication, to know what they count on out of me and I do know what they want and I do know what my job is as a participant, as a captain within the locker room.”
“It’d be good to know exactly what’s going on in some detail to a certain extent. Then I can control what I can control and just go about my job.”

Toews wants to have a proper conversation with the team and the coaches
The Blackhawks lost their 8th straight game on Tuesday, falling 5-2 to the Los Angeles Kings. According to Toews, the team’s performance was not up to the mark and even casual to what Toews expected should have been more serious. Toews added,
“Across the board, the last few outings have been pretty embarrassing, I would say. Regardless of the score, regardless of whether it was a win or loss, the effort just wasn’t there”
“There’s no connection in our team game and not valuing what we have.”
The Chicago Blackhawks made a splash in the offseason by acquiring veteran goaltender Marc Andre Fleury, and defenseman Seth Jones. But even after that things fell apart both on and off the ring.
Kyle Davidson stepped in as the general manager after Stan Bowman resigned following an investigation into a former Blackhawks video on coach Brad Aldrich’s alleged sexual assault of Kyle Bleach in 2010.
Toews’ role changed, now playing on the second line with Philip Kurashev and Taylor Raddysh. As noted on sportsnet.ca, Toews admitted in an interview with Mark Laezrus of the Atlantic, that he sees the team’s rebuild plan as a lengthy process,
“Now, all of a sudden, you realize no one on our team is safe and we could all be going in different directions in the near future — it’s pretty discouraging,” Toews said. “I’ll leave it at that for now.”
The Chicago Blackhawks have a chance to regain their slip-on Thursday against the San Jose Sharks. Chicago Blackhawks sit 7th in the Central Division with a 24-38-11 record.
