Since the 2016 brand split, it is generally a rare occurrence for superstars to appear on the show opposite to which they are assigned. However, when a rivalry runs as deep as the one between Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan, they will surely follow each other no matter where they go.
The latest episode of SmackDown featured the Women’s World Champion visiting the show alongside Dominik Mysterio and Raquel Rodriguez. They claimed that they were there to make an example out of Nia Jax. Hence, they would go on to watch her match against Naomi. After the bout ended with the WWE Women’s Champion suffering a shocking loss, the Raw superstars were immediately ambushed by Rhea Ripley.
The Eradicator immediately went after Rodriguez, who had cost her the Women’s World Championship at Bad Blood. She sent her crashing into the barricades and made her way towards her arch nemesis. Morgan went into the ring to escape the Australian, but ran right into Jax. Ripley hit a big boot on the Samoan and started beating Morgan down. Thanks to a distraction by Mysterio, the three were eventually able to escape.
Morgan will face Jax at the upcoming Crown Jewel PLE in November to compete for the Crown Jewel Championship. This three-way rivalry involving Ripley and the two women’s champions can unfold into something very exciting. It wouldn’t be surprising if the 28-year-old ran interference during their match in Saudi Arabia.
Rhea Ripley signs a new contract with WWE amidst her rivalry with Liv Morgan
Earlier this year, there were reports that WWE had approached Rhea Ripley, Nia Jax and Liv Morgan about renewing their contracts with the company. The company wants to retain the three superstars on their roster, and has made some significant progress regarding at least one of them.
According to PWInsider Elite, Ripley and WWE have mutually agreed to the terms of a new contract. This new contract will keep the 2023 Royal Rumble winner with the company for another five years. She is also said to have received a significant financial raise.
Although the official papers have not yet been signed, it is allegedly only a matter of time before things are finalized. Meanwhile, the contract statuses of Morgan and Nia Jax remain ambiguous. However, it is highly likely that these two champions will also stay with the promotion for the foreseeable future.
