Nick Kyrgios made hateful comments about Jannik Sinner since his doping scandal came into the light last year. Sinner tested positive for the banned anabolic steroid clostebol in March last year, and the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) revealed the case to the world in August, provoking a massive controversy.

Kyrgios, like many from the tennis world, questioned the doping agencies and also accused Sinner of deliberately using the anabolic steroid to enhance his performance. But during his interview with Piers Morgan, the Aussie lauded the Italian for his dominating performance in spite of the doping saga.

And I think just the way the case was handled as a whole was very… it wasn’t a good look for the sport. I mean, he was our number one tennis player in the world.

Nick Kyrgios said

Sinner and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) reached a settlement agreement according to which the World No.2 received a three-month ban. He served his doping ban after defending his Australian Open crown by breezing past Alexander Zverev.

But at the same time, look, the way he bounced back from it, too, is amazing. As much as me and Jannik Sinner have differences, I think the way he took the ban, took the time away from the sport, then came back and pretty much nearly won Rome… or I don’t know, I think he lost to Alcaraz in the final. He did, you know, he took his time off, and he came back, and he became better. And there’s no doubt that he’s going to be one of the greatest players of all time.

Nick Kyrgios added

After making his comeback at the Italian Open, the four-time Grand Slam champion lost to Carlos Alcaraz in the final and reached eight more title clashes, winning Wimbledon, China Open, Vienna Open, Paris Masters, and the ATP Finals, losing at the French Open, Cincinnati Masters, and the US Open. Sinner defended his crown in the year-end championships by defeating Alcaraz.

Kyrgios, who made his comeback after 18 months at the Brisbane International, played just five tournaments this year. He registered just one win, in the first round of the Miami Open. Kyrgios ended his season after playing doubles with Gael Monfils at the Citi Open.

Patrick Mouratoglou thinks Jack Draper can challenge the dominance of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner

At present, only Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz are dominating on the men’s tour, but there are often discussions about who would be challenging their dominance. Novak Djokovic is still there, but he has reached the twilight of his career and is struggling to beat the World No.1 and the World No.2. Patrick Mouratoglou thinks Jack Draper, if he stays healthy, can join Sinner and Alcaraz to form another Big 3.

He’s potentially someone who can compete with Alcaraz and Sinner. He definitely has everything. I think he has the mind, which is the most important. He’s an incredible competitor, I think he’s very ambitious, and he’s smart. I really like him a lot, and I think he has a big game. He also had a lot of power.

Patrick Mouratoglou said during his interview with ITV

Draper ended his season after his first-round win at the US Open. An arm injury forced him to withdraw from the second round match.

The Brit played three finals this year, winning one title. He first lost the Qatar Open to Andrey Rublev before he beat Holger Rune to win his career’s first Big Title at the Indian Wells Masters. The 23-year-old later reached the final of the Madrid Open but failed to go past Casper Ruud.
