No player other than Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner has been winning the Grand Slam titles since 2024, with them sharing the last eight Majors between them. But Nick Kyrgios thinks the two youngsters would not be winning every Major title next year.
The Aussie, who lost the 2022 Wimbledon to Novak Djokovic, is on the sidelines because of fitness problems. During the UTS Hong Kong, he backed Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Zverev to break the World No.1 and World No.2’s dominance next year.
Zverev or Medvedev is going to win a Grand Slam in 2026. I think that those two guys are going to be hungry. Obviously, Sinner and Alcaraz are the juggernauts and the titans. But I think that Medvedev and Zverev are sick of them winning all the Grand Slams. So maybe one of those two.
Although Medvedev is a Grand Slam champion- he won the 2021 US Open and also reached five more finals- Zverev has yet to taste glory in the Majors. He has played three finals, including this year’s Australian Open, losing the title to Sinner in straight sets. Both Medvedev and Zverev have dealt with the slump in form this year.
Medvedev finally ended his title drought at the Almaty Open by defeating Corentin Moutet in three sets. It was his first title since winning his career’s first clay-court title at the 2023 Italian Open. Apart from Almaty, the 29-year-old also reached the final of the Halle Open but failed to beat Alexander Bublik.
Zverev has the BMW Open to his name this season, and apart from this, he also played the finals of the Australian Open and the Stuttgart Open, losing the latter to Taylor Fritz. Both Zverev and Medvedev are in Vienna and will start their campaigns on October 21.
The former will be locking horns with Jacob Fearnley, while the latter will meet Nuno Borges. Medvedev and Zverev will only face each other if they reach the semifinals, and the winner could meet first-seed Sinner in the championship clash.
Laura Robson on Jannik Sinner’s win over Carlos Alcaraz
The Six Kings Slam is more than an exhibition event, given that the mouthwatering $6 million is on the line. The second edition ended once again in Jannik Sinner‘s favor with a straight-set win over Carlos Alcaraz.

Sinner took his US Open defeat revenge on Alcaraz, which was also his second win over the Spaniard in their six meetings this year. Former WTA player Laura Robson was greatly impressed by Sinner’s dominance over the six-time Grand Slam champion.
It was a great day at the office for Team Sinner. He barely put a foot wrong. There was only a handful of unforced errors for Alcaraz to work with, and it felt like he had to work so hard to win points on his own serve, which at the US Open was a totally different story. So very different match-up, but I love the rivalry gets closer every time they play.

The match made no changes to the official rankings and head-to-head record, given that the Riyadh exhibition is not an ATP-sanctioned tournament. Alcaraz will next be seen in action at the Paris Masters, while Sinner will start his Vienna Open campaign against Daniel Altmaier.
After Vienna, he will participate in the Paris Masters, which will be an important event for both Sinner and Alcaraz because 1000 ranking points will be on offer. Alcaraz lost in the third round last year, while the four-time Grand Slam champion skipped the tournament.
