Nick Kyrgios continues to criticize Jannik Sinner. On Instagram, when a fan asked the Aussie whether he wanted to play doubles with Sinner, Kyrgios took a brutal dig at the Italian.

Sinner tested positive for an anabolic steroid called clostebol twice in March this year and was provisionally suspended but faced no harsh punishments. He was cleared of all wrongdoing in August just a few days ahead of the US Open.

The tennis community was divided as several players before Sinner had to go through months of suspension in spite of getting contaminated accidentally, just like Sinner. In Sinner’s case, it was his physio who used a spray containing clostebol and massaged Sinner with his bare hands and because of this, the drug entered his system.

Sinner’s trainer gave the spray to the physio, and after the case was made public by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA), Sinner parted ways with both of them. Kyrgios criticized him for that, questioning why the 23-year-old had not split from them before. And when a fan recently asked him on Instagram Story whether he would play doubles match with Sinner, his answer was, “I only play with CLEAN players.”

Jannik Sinner confident of positive result after WADA’s appeal to CAS

Jannik Sinner thought he left a bad phase behind him when the ITIA acquitted him of the doping charges, after which he went on to claim his second Grand Slam trophy at the US Open. But he is once again in hot water due to the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA) appeal before the Court of Arbitration of Sports (CAS).

WADA announced that it wanted a one to two-year ban on Sinner. Sinner did not hide how shocked he was but expressed his confidence in being proven innocent once again.

I had three hearings in which the three hearings went all my way, which you know, it was good. But now let’s see. But I’m very confident that it will come out very, very positively. I would be very, very surprised if it was the opposite side.

Jannik Sinner said at a press conference

The doping case did not hinder Sinner from the US Open title or his run at the China Open, though he lost in the final after an epic battle against Carlos Alcaraz. The two-time Grand Slam champion is in Shanghai and has reached the fourth round. If he wins the event, it will be his seventh trophy on the ATP Tour.
