2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios attended a special Q&A session on Instagram on Monday, October 7th, where he shared many interesting insights about his future in the game. One of the topics he discussed was the possibility of playing doubles with Novak Djokovic and Thanasi Kokkinakis.

Kyrgios remained loyal to his Australian doubles partner, with whom he has shared a special relationship for over 15 years. The highlight of their partnership was winning the 2022 Australian Open men’s doubles title. Kyrgios didn’t refuse the idea of playing doubles with Djokovic, but prioritized Kokkinakis over him.

Kokki will get first priority but I am down.

Speaking of the 2022 Australian Open, it also marked a turning point in Kyrgios’ relationship with Djokovic. During the tournament, Djokovic was controversially deported due to his stance on COVID-19, and Kyrgios was one of the few ATP players who supported him. This came as a surprise to many, as the two had previously not gotten along well.

Both Kyrgios and Djokovic confirmed their ‘bromance’ during the Wimbledon 2022 final, where the 24-time Grand Slam champion secured his seventh Wimbledon title by defeating Kyrgios in four sets. Since then, they have practiced together and shared some lighthearted moments during on-court interviews.

Nick Kyrgios makes fresh doping attack on Jannik Sinner

Nick Kyrgios has taken another shot at Jannik Sinner over his failed doping tests. In August, the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) revealed that Sinner tested positive for a banned substance twice in March but avoided a ban after an independent tribunal cleared him of blame.

Jannik Sinner tested positive for clostebol, an anabolic steroid, on March 10 and 18 during and after the Indian Wells Masters. The tribunal accepted his claim that the steroid came from a massage spray his physio used to treat a cut on their finger.

I only play with CLEAN players.

Kyrgios has been the most vocal critic of the decision, saying he doesn’t believe Sinner’s explanation.

The 2022 Wimbledon finalist posted on X, calling the situation “ridiculous” and insisting that testing positive for a banned substance, accidental or not, should result in a two-year ban.

Last week, Kyrgios responded to the news that the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) had appealed for a ban on Sinner, questioning why the Italian star was still allowed to compete. This fractured relationship doesn’t seem to be healing anytime soon, especially if Sinner escapes suspension yet again.
