Although Nick Kyrgios has been condemning Jannik Sinner due to the doping scandal, he once called the Italian his favorite player. And when the clip of the same resurfaced on social media, Kyrgios made it clear about his stance.
Sinner tested positive for a banned anabolic steroid clostebol in March last year and escaped a ban, inviting criticism from all corners. Kyrgios too often took to his social media to make scathing remarks on the World No.1.
On social media, however, a user dug out an old video of Kyrgios declaring, “Sinner is like my favorite player right now.” When Kyrgios came across that tweet, he responded that he made those comments before the 23-year-old failed the drug test.
This was before he was found with roids in his system.

In the wake of the International Tennis Integrity Agency’s (ITIA) announcement of Sinner’s failed drug test, although the debate about whether he should be blamed for the contamination has died down, Kyrgios didn’t put an end to his bitter comments. He has made it clear that he accused Sinner of deliberate use of clostebol in order to enhance his performance.
The 29-year-old blamed contamination for Sinner’s impressive performance last year as he won eight ATP titles, including two Majors and his first ATP Finals. Recently Sinner launched his YouTube channel, and Kyrgios urged him in a sarcastic manner to show the ‘behind the scenes of what happened a year ago‘ and thought Sinner’s PR team was working ‘overtime’ to save his image, calling it ‘disgusting’.
Lindsey Vonn hopes to ski with Jannik Sinner
Before being a professional tennis player, Jannik Sinner used to be a skier and often plays the sport whenever he has the time. Sinner also has a good relationship with skiing legend Lindsey Vonn, who returned to competition after almost six years. Vonn, during an interview, lauded the three-time Grand Slam champion and said they both want to ski together one day.

I’m sure we’ll ski together again sooner or later. He is very focused on tennis at this stage of his career and is winning a multitude of trophies. We both have other priorities now, but we will meet again one day.
Lindsey Vonn said during an interview with Repubblica
Sinner, after defending the Australian Open title, skipped the Rotterdam Open, where he is the defending champion. As he needed to recharge his batteries, he instead went skiing at Plan de Corones.
Sinner is next scheduled to play in the Qatar Open, which is set to run from February 17 to February 22. Last year, he skipped both the events in Doha and Dubai.
