Nick Kyrgios slammed Andy Roddick and Jon Wertheim after they suggested his remarks on Jannik Sinner were due to Anna Kalinskaya.

Tennis journalist Jon Wertheim slammed Nick Kyrgios for his stinging remarks on Jannik Sinner because of the doping controversy. He believes the reason the Aussie has been accusing Sinner of intentional doping is because of Anna Kalinskaya.
Sinner is dating Kalinskaya who previously dated Kyrgios back in 2020. Kyrgios last year even commented on X, ‘Second serve’, on a picture of Kalinskaya, which he later deleted. His critics, including Wertheim, are convinced his statements against Sinner stem from a ‘personal vendetta’ over the 23-year-old dating Kalinskaya.
Wertheim made those comments on Andy Roddick‘s Served with Andy Roddick podcast. Upon coming across what Wertheim had to say about the controversy, Kyrgios ridiculed both Wertheim and Roddick but not without making another derogatory comment on the World No. 1.

Hahaha of course – sweep sweep sweep, how is this now my fault? I couldn’t care less where sinner lays his wood ?? I’m in a happy relationship ?? I just don’t like people who are cheating the system. Roddick – never ever thought you were a sheep my guy lol https://t.co/LhgX523tbS

Sinner tested positive for the banned anabolic steroid, clostebol, in March last year. He was provisionally suspended twice but did not face a lengthy ban. This sparked controversy as many argued that in spite of not consuming the banned drug intentionally, Sinner should have been banned for one or two years. The critics accused the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) of double standards.
Nick Kyrgios suffers huge setback days before the Australian Open
Nick Kyrgios played his first official match since his long injury layoff at the Brisbane International. He participated in singles as well as doubles but his campaign did not last for long.
Kyrgios was knocked out of singles in the first round after defeat to Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in three sets. Then the 29-year-old and World No.7 Novak Djokovic were defeated by Nikola Mektic and Michael Venus in the second round. During his singles match, he also suffered pain on his wrist.
The 2022 Wimbledon finalist was excited to be back at the Australian Open but ahead of it, he suffered a huge setback. He was scheduled to lock horns with Djokovic as well, in an exhibition event, but he withdrew from it due to an injury scare.
